Recently, our editor had the opportunity to meet with Alfredo Aleman, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Grupo Los Pueblos, for an interview:
TP: What current Project are you most excited about? Why?
A: Embassy Club because we have begun construction and it is a new concept for Panama where it is a gated community with a full amenity clubhouse.
Embassy Village, because it is our newest project and it is based on the concept of "new urbanism" which has not been seen in Panama until now.
TP: What makes your projects special or different from all of the others in the market? What makes you stand apart from the rest?
A: Our location and concept. Our projects are located in the city but are surrounded by lushness....surrounded by metropolitan and national parks... We are located by the local {domestic} airport, Albrook Mall, Summit golf course, and many more. The value of land is important since we are located by the City of Knowledge, US embassy & consulate, new regional UN offices, expansion of canal.
TP: What is the profile of your typical client?
A: High-end clients looking for a home with high quality finishes. We offer our clients a different style of living that has not been seen in panama. We bring our clients new living concepts.
TP: How do you see the Real Estate market currently?
A: We have been in business for over 30 years; therefore, we see ourselves as a solid company that is here to stay for years to come. We see the market as a very steady one. We will keep delivering special niches to the market.
TP: Do you feel there is a "bubble" as many people on the streets are saying? Why?
A: No, not in our area which is the former Canal zone. There is low supply of land. We are developing in a very unique area due to the surrounding parks.
TP: How do you see the future of Real Estate in Panama?
A: This is a growing country....tourism is growing....expansion of the canal... Many opportunities.... Therefore, people are looking for homes. We see a bright future full of opportunities.
TP: What is the best thing about investing in Panama right now?
A: 20 year property tax exemption, business opportunities, expansion of canal, new ports, tourism.
TP: If you were giving advice to your best friend about buying property in Panama, what tips would you give him or her? Which would be the single-most important piece of advice for a buyer?
A: Great communications, close to everything: mountains, beach, city, access to all services, property tax exemption, privacy laws.
