Three foreign freight ships stood waiting as she was given right of way and passage. Hands waved as the vessel crossed and hundreds of tourists watched in total Awe, at this engineering feat lifted and then lowered the vessel from one level of sea unto the Pacific ocean level.
The Panama Canal Miraflores visitors center was packed with tourists yesterday as they cameras clicked away on a beautiful warm sunny summer afternoon.
 The Panama Canal is one of the economic vertebrae that provides Panama with stable economy and stable tourism growth, this is one of the reasons that Panama has managed to survive the economic recessions of other less fortunate countries. The Panama Canal is currently undergoing a multibillion dollar expansion, this investment provides jobs opportunities, and keep the local economy vibrant.
